The Custodian is responsible for keeping the ELC premises clean and tidy and undertaking other key housekeeping duties such as laundry. The Custodian is required to perform the following duties on an on-going basis demonstrating the highest standards and with a positive attitude.
Position Responsibilities and Functions:
Be responsible for the cleanliness of the reception area, toilets, changing rooms, classrooms, outdoor and ELC premises in accordance with municipality regulations
Ensure toilet facilities and changing room facilities are cleaned to the highest standards and regularly.
Ensure compliance with the Municipality food hygiene procedures
Ensure the ELC kitchen, equipment, utensils and appliances is maintained in accordance with municipality regulations
Ensure all soap dispensers and hand towels are available in all washrooms
Order soaps and hand towels when required, through the nurse.
Order cleaning materials when required, through the nurse.
Ensure linen washing, ironing and storage standards are maintained 9
Participates in monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting cycles.
Ensure sufficient linen available at all times
Prepare refreshments for guests to the ELC.
Maintain a clean and healthy environment throughout the ELC.
Ensure that the health and safety of the children is maintained AT ALL TIMES in keeping with the child protection and safety policy.
Completes the morning and afternoon checklists, ensures that the areas are clean, surfaces are sanitized, materials are clean and in good shape and are ready to be used.
